Biography Journal

Bradley Beauty in L.A.’s Brentwood Village has created a name for itself by challenging superficial fixes and championing skincare authenticity. Its founder Heather Bradley has a background spanning music, modeling, and aesthetics, and her approach to skincare is likewise well-balanced: holistic, intuitive, and refreshingly direct.
We met Heather some years ago in L.A. through friends, and now any trip to L.A. requires two essential bookings: the airline ticket and a treatment with Heather.
We sat down with her to dive deeper into her skincare philosophies, beauty truths, and why she chooses Biography oils for her studio.
Q&A WITH HEATHER BRADLEY
What guides your choice of products for your studio treatments?
Providing clients with exactly what their skin needs, not just what's marketed to them. Genuine hydration, conditioning, and anti-aging benefits are my priority.
There’s controversy around dermaplaning. What's the real story?
Anything effective always has controversy. Common misconceptions are that hair grows back thicker or it causes breakouts. Neither is true if done properly. Dermaplaning removes dead tissue, boosts skin renewal, and greatly enhances product absorption.
Is dermaplaning suitable for all skin types?
My Bradley Signature Sweep facial is crafted for all skin types, addressing every skincare need from cleansing to anti-aging serums. Only severe acne cases require a different initial approach before dermaplaning.
What's a simple skincare tip most people overlook?
Spray your face with water frequently throughout the day, even over makeup. You wouldn't fertilize a garden and forget to water it.
What common skincare mistake frustrates you most?
Not washing your face properly, especially at night. That's when your skincare routine should do its heavy lifting.
Reflecting on your diverse career, what have you kept, and what have you let go of?
I’ve kept laughter, joy, a spiritual practice, and my quest for unconditional love. I've left behind heartache, failures, and relationships with people who haven't learned to love themselves.
How do you approach beauty in general, beyond the products?
The way we speak to ourselves shows up in our skin. I’ve seen gorgeous skin look dull because someone’s energy was off. And vice versa—someone glowing from joy and kindness. That’s real beauty. Also: use your hands. Touch your face. Touch other people. It matters.
Your definition of beauty has evolved across your varied career. What does beauty mean to you now?
Beauty is laughter, kindness, and playfulness. Trends and treatments can enhance appearance, but inner ugliness inevitably shows through. Real beauty always reflects what's on the inside.
How has your extensive work refining skin shaped your understanding of beauty?
My two-hour treatments recalibrate the skin cells and support the body's natural healing and renewal process. By consistently nurturing skin with science-backed, nature-driven care, we reveal authentic beauty that radiates from within.
What’s your favorite Biography product and why?
Long June Calm Face Oil. Natural ingredients, calming and moisturizing, beautiful packaging, and a lightweight feel on the body. I use it around the eyes because I love the calendula and chamomile—it smells absolutely beautiful and I use it to seal up my treatments.
