Dermal repair equals self-love

IN BED WITH BRADLEY BEAUTY

Everything affects our skin from our exterior dermis to our internal complex garden of veins, capillaries, muscles, blood, soft tissue and bones. Taking the time and making the time to take care of our skin will never stop. There is no magic pill when it comes to health, wellness and skincare.

When we think of dermal repair, we often think of the professional treatments that we have recently done that require our attention and healing. Dermal repair actually refers to the work done on and around the fatty lipid barrier. We are preparing it to protect you from future injuries and elements (i.e. winter, spring, summer or fall). What we don’t consider is that we are constantly in need of repairing our skin barrier. The dermis of our skin requires attention from us every single day. Our skin being the largest organ of the body, communicates directly to all the other smaller organs in the body. Think about that, let that sink in.

Self-Love Challenge

I want to challenge you to stand in front of the mirror and look at yourself, thinking about the things that people have said to you throughout the week or the things that you’ve said to yourself in the privacy of your own mind. Is it somewhere you’ve been traveling to or is it something you ingested or put topically on your skin? Look at yourself - really see into your eyes and scan over your skin on your face and your body. Ask yourself “How am I reacting to people, places and things?”

Dermal repair reflects self-love. It is a daily requirement like a prayer or meditation of what your skin needs to be perfectly healthy. If you think about it, every single thing we do is about relationship and how we care for that relationship. Whether it is skin, people, places or pets, everything requires consistent attention, and loving care for the optimal results.

SkinMedica Dermal Repair

I’m choosing to feature SkinMedica Dermal Repair Cream this month because of the stellar reputation that SkinMedica has carried throughout its almost 30 year history. It is a thoughtful medical grade skincare line started by a Dermatologist and leans on the side of science and how science interacts with nature, our bodies and our skin.

As we move through summer into fall many of you are considering lasers and peels and perhaps other more aggressive options on a professional level that turn the skin cells over and gives us that fresh restart for the holidays, carrying us into the rest of the year. I want you to start thinking about this and making it a mantra “I love myself, I love my skin, all year round.” It is not just the havoc of the holidays or the summer beat down that wears on our skin. It’s our thoughts. It’s the way people speak to us. It’s the stress of life that has an effect on our tissue all year long.

Try this dynamic duo! Use Barnacle Buster followed by Dermal Repair Cream - it’s like a love letter to your skin!

On a clean face, use your Barnacle Buster as a tonic to breakdown and balance out the unnecessary keratosis growth, unevenness and stubborn unwanted pigmentation.

As a second step, apply your SkinMedica Dermal Repair Cream over the top and watch your skin heal up perfectly, getting you the results you want.
