How it works:

There are 3 different processes to consider when it comes to exfoliation: Physical (which requires buffing or abrasion of dead skin via granular scrubs), chemical (which requires melting or dissolving dead skin tissue via enzymes and acids), and mechanical (involving exfoliation via machines, devices, or tools). 

This exfoliating facial scrub combines physical exfoliation (via sugar beads and honey crystals) with the power of chemical exfoliation (glycolic acid and citric acid) — resulting in one of the most powerful, effective, and “best” exfoliators for faces that’s available to use at home. 

The sugar beads and honey crystals in the blend are the perfect size and shape to gently scrub away dead skin cells, and create little channels for the other ingredients to penetrate the epidermis. These work together with glycolic acid — known as the strongest AHA (alpha hydroxy acid) — to brighten the face and encourage the formation of collagen for that unbeatable youthful glow. 

After these processes occur, the citric acid included in the formulation works overtime to kill surface-level bacteria and neutralize free radicals that cause inflammation and hyperpigmentation. How to use:

Prepare your product for use by stirring it well with the enclosed spatula. Then, apply to clean, wet skin and massage in circular motions through the face, neck and chest until the product is dissolved. Leave the product on for about 1-2 minutes for best results. Then, rinse with warm water and follow your moisturizer of choice. Use 2-3 times per week, at night only. 

*This product is not a cleanser, and as such, does not replace the cleansing step in any facial routine. It is an exfoliating treatment.

Heather's tip:

This scrub is sticky, so I recommend using it in the shower for easy cleanup. This is a great step to use before applying your favorite serums and moisturizers. Don’t forget to recycle your glass jar when it’s empty!
